Who is Bella Rose?

Bella Rose, officially known as Izabella Rose Johnson, was a member of our gymnastics team at Heartland Gymnastics. I left Heartland Gymnastics and started my own team which I originally named Twist and Turn Gymnastics, in which Izabella was a member ... until one tragic day in July of 2003...

Izabella, one of my most promising team members, was an 8 year old firecracker of a little girl. She lived in Peru, IN and was a triplet, she was the only girl. While playing outside, Izabella ran into traffic chasing a ball when she was hit by a car. She was taken to Parkview Hospital where she later passed away. Izabella was very special to me and her teammates. So, as you can see, I wanted to name the gym after her, which is where the name "Bella Rose" came from.

Her Memory will forever live in my heart as well as those who knew her. She was an amazing gymnast with a gift for this sport in her short life.

Izabella still holds the vaulting record at our gym with her 9.6 Level 5 vault score, as well as the record for chin ups (21). We host a meet every year in memory of Izabella. She is deeply missed and loved to this day.
